The Peach Blossom Spring

Inspiration today comes from the beautiful peach blossom

I always find the first blossoms of spring inspiring. The peach tree in my back yard blooms first each year, always eager to see winter out the door. I saw her blooms and buds this morning and I knew it would be a good day.
The blooms inspired me to look up the significance of peach blossoms. My curiosity led me to the tale of The Peach Blossom Spring (桃花源記) written by Tao Yuanming in 421 CE. The story tells of a fisherman who stumbles upon a hidden community tucked away among a grove of peach trees at the end of a long waterway. The people there, though surprised to see him, greet him warmly and treat him well during his weeklong stay. When he leaves, he vows to return to the idyllic community one day with others and leaves himself signs along the route, but nobody is ever able to find the village again.
